Cubs 8 - 10.5yrs
What are Cub Scouts?
For Cubs, excitement and adventure are key. They are introduced to exciting outdoor skills and take part in adventurous activities, as well as camps and residential experiences.
The Cub Pack is the third section of the Scout Group following on from Squirrels and Beavers. Cub Scouts are young people aged between 8 and 10 ½. There is flexibility in the age range: young people can join from age 7½ and can move to Scouts between age 10 and 11. It may sometimes be appropriate to extend this flexibility for young people with additional needs.
Like all our sections, Cubs is open to Girls and Boys
When do they meet?
Silver End Cubs meet on a Tuesday. The location is the Scout HQ in Silver End. For safeguarding purposes we do not publish the address or a map online, but we will provide details to all members or future members on where to find us. The current meeting day and times are:-
Tuesday 7pm - 8.30pm
What Activities do Cub Scouts do?
During their time in the Pack, Cub Scouts will get a chance to try a wide range of different activities as well as going on trips, days out, and on camps. Participation and personal development, rather than meeting set standards, is the key approach.
There are numerous badges and awards they can work towards and earn during their time in Cubs, and hopefully move up to Scouts having achieved their Silver Chief Scouts Award.
Adult Vacancies

The smiles you get in return are award enough. If you have an hour to spare once or month or can commit to more we can find a role for you. We are currently looking for:-

Cub Section Occasional Helpers/Parent Helper
For more information or to volunteer please visit the Adult Support page.
Useful information
One of the questions we always get asked is where do you buy the uniform from? There is a District Scout Shop based at Prances Campsite that is open Saturdays from 10am to 1pm during term time.
We have mentioned there are numerous badges, but what do Cubs have to do to earn them? Take a look here for all the requirements.
Next question is where do all these badge go?
